Hello everyone

I have just recently tried setting up my desktop at home to use RDP using my public IP which works fine, I tried opening the FPSC software and it tells me I can not use the software remotely. Has anyone tried using the FPSC remotely with RDP before and if so have you gotten it to work?

I am going to try using a different software like go to assist software next made by citrix.

Just wondering if anyone else got it to work with RDP.

Thanks,

I don't think you can run 3D programs over Remote desktops due to some graphic processing problem

But with remote desktop, everything is processed on the computer being connected to, not the client, so there shouldn't be a problem.

Install this on the target PC...

And then Splashtop Remote Desktop (gen 1) on the accessing PC...

I used to use this for the very purpose, bear in mind, some full screen applications can get issues... so when doing a test build... you may struggle...

Read into it, there are others as well such as teamviewer which you can also automate the remote connection with...

hope this helps...

@ Mr Bigglesworth

I agree with that, not sure why it can not load it. Possibly some restrictions RDP has? or service that is required by FPSC to load which does not load with RDP?

My thinking Cap will need to be on for that.

@ MrValentine

Yes, I was going to try the Team veiwer (thats what we use at or office to connect to clients computers for software support)
It works very well and allows us to luanch software that RDP can not launch.

I am still however wondering if its possible to get the RDP working.

But the optional Remote software (which is an endless list) will be the work around for the time being. I will post to say if it works or not.

Thank you

It better be able to do remote login for the price of it. Our company just looked at purchasing Catia V5 (not even the most recent version) and for 3 users it was around $100,000.00 up front and around $30,000.00 per year subscription fee. It better do remote access, high speed design and my dishes on Sundays for that price.

It doesn't work with unity either so there must be a problem there

Well this weekend I hope to test the "3rd Party Software" such as Team Veiwer. If this works I will let everyone know so that they know now what to use remotely.

I just would like to use it remotely as I am never at home for long good amount of time. My laptop can handle FPSC with no problem at all I just want to keep everything on my Desktop. I wounder if FPScreator could be used on a Application server, kinda like sharing Quickbooks out to a network I think I may add that to the list of things to try. I do have a file share server. I could add terminal server to it with a new raid setup. HMMMMMMM

So many questions such little time.
