Hey guys. We've been wondering as to what other avenues could be approached, to get the word out about the KickStarter Campaign for FPSC: Reloaded. We've pretty well covered the bases around the Community here.

What steps has everyone taken already (make your own list in this thread), and what ideas do you have? Keeping the momentum up is key to moving this project forward.

Remember, every little bit helps; whether it's simply liking the KS FB page, sharing it on your FB page, tweeting about it, or just plain talking about it in various game development and/or game art communities.

UPDATE: I've attached the banner ad from the main TGC Page. You can use this to advertise it on your site(s), or in other Forums (if they allow it) as your signature.

Well I can start here. I have posted it on my Facebook page and have also gone to the local Community College and let the computer labs and game clubs know about it.

Yes I do have a reason for this.
I need to sell games. and getting the college kids involved lets them know there is another avenue available to them other than marriage or farming or selling drugs. So they can help them selves and maybe assist me as well with their Social Media skills.

And let them know that courses in MS WORD EXCEL POWERPOINT usually do not provide a income to raise a family but learning to make games a multi billion industry DOES provide a great income expressly for college age people.

You should try to get Rock, Paper, Shotgun and pc gamer etc. to cover it. They often write articles on a variety of games from indy titles to aaa titles and new kickstarter campaigns etc. that would give it a lot of exposure.

I wrote this earlier and lost it so here's a short cut down version.....

Banners and or info with link through on everyones web site there are quite a few with web sites here all round the various boards I guess. Every link and click is of value. How many TGC users currently have one at their web site?

Banner exchange TGC would need to look at that and if its credible. Free swap with someone who has a web site with some clout or a number in terms of visitor numbers if possible. An exchange for a Reloaded banner at TGC Pages and these forums. TGC may have some connections I dont know?

Search Google for engines and alike and FPSC has been and is nowhere much to be seen as its not well considered or supported in the indie engine world. For instance AppGameKit is on the front page here : http://devmaster.net/devdb/engines. Where is FPSC?

Videos : is Reloaded video on You Tube? if not why not? What about other such video sites? Vimeo etc? is it added there?

Pinning a reloaded image with link if possible at Pin sites may be helpful - they are now popular. e.g http://pinterest.com/

Anyone have links with Newspapers, magazines on or offline that could be used to affect in a getting a mention?

Education. It is said that FPSC is used by some educational organisations of various kinds - will they support it either with a pledge or by advertising with a link through?

Obviously large online communities are good targets but it takes time and much effort to get noticed.

FPSC is not well supported en masse - just does not have a enough of it and its a bit late in the day now to think of that but any and all advertising, links and clicks would help.

Anywhere where FPSC classic is listed or displayed should be updated to a Reloaded link.

Not sure if any of that is of any help at all but I tried with what came to mind at the moment.

Its a bit late but my releases get usually downloaded a lot and hostet on other indie game sites. Its not much but all I can do to assist.

I might not be able to do much, but I went ahead made a new sig picture and added a page for FPSC Reloaded on my site with links to the kickstarter page. I also shared it through facebook. I would retweet it on twitter, but I only just started using twitter yesterday, no followers yet.

I've done my bit by (maybe naughtily) mentioning the fundraising on the TGC Wikipedia page:

Wikipedia, from Wikipedia. They have this thing about all content having to be encyclopaedic, and not a fairly flagrant advert.

For instance, if I'd started a new article about the Reloaded Kickstarter project and plastered it with links to it and loads of pseudo-marketing spiel about it being a good cause, they wouldn't like that.

Social Media works best. Also the great advantage is making FPSC Reloaded popular enough to those that haven't even tried or heard of FPSCx9. They may jump on board as well.

I would suggest an action packed trailer for various social channels (YouTube, Facebook etc.)

FPSC:R could brand itself towards a new set of game developers.

A video with short clips from the very best FPSC currently has to offer and a few headlines that inform people of the easy-to-use system and high quality results that are possible.

I am thinking something that showcases scenes from a sci-fi, fantasy and a modern setting with bond1 charachters and ErrantAI weapons could be an eye opener to many.

I agree with Scurvy Lobster, a trailer for FPSCR would certainly boost the number of backers,I think the reason it hasn't had that many backers yet is the fact that people haven't seen it in action yet.

Not sure if that was a sacarsm or not. In my opinion you are making a relevant claim about something done by the subject depicted in the article. Thus giving a reference to the source of such claim is more than appropriate. A direct reference link to the FPSCR project at KS.com could look suspicious but as long as it doesn't have its own page at TGC.com there's no other choice. However, I don't know anything about Wikipedia's rules and policies on content so probably it wasn't a good idea at all.

Thomas Crown Affair... I don't quite remember it... but I remember Rene Russo...

Excellent ideas guys, thanks a lot. I have just blitzed Rick with a few of the ones I can do from this end so hopefully we can action some video stuff soon (I have some out takes from the original video I can mix in).

I also enjoyed the comic strips which highlighted the major flaws in FPSC in a funny way. It would be great to turn those bugs into parodies as a way to promote Reloaded, the product that solves it. Remember the one where the character had sunk 50% into the floor LMAO!!

I'm painting the car and taking it for a quick spin round the country), painted the dog too since he gets out more than I do. Heck, I even took a sharpie to the wife's forehead this morning so she can advertise at work.
These are truly awesome ideas which I got while reading the newsie on the John this morning, hope they give y'all some inspiration for ways to get the message out there

It basically spreads your video around the net to help promote your kickstarter campaign.

Of course I have no actual idea of how good it actually is but it could be definitely worth a try...

Its only a 10 dollar minimum start of cost anyway, but that is only for a viral video campaign that lasts only a short time, I guess you have to deposit more if you want it to last longer, which would potentially cut into the actual kickstarter...

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, and I know that there is already an FPSC Reloaded video up already, but I fear that we won't meet the 60,000 dollar mark. I can make a video advertising the campaign on YouTube, in which people can share all over (facebook, websites, forums, bookface, face of books). Now, my current channel is in fact monetized. I could monetize the video and contribute all funds gained from views towards the Kickstarter. Maybe that could help.
