Hey guys, thought I'd start one of these model threads cause everyone else seems to have one and I'm planning on making some new higher-end models to sell now (I need money ).

Here's my first project: a H&K G36c assault rifle. This is about 4/5 hours work so far, still needs the handle and magazine modelling, and then unwrapping/texturing.

Any feedback?

Very solid modeling! I do, however see what appear to be smoothing errors. Can't tell for sure though because of the angles and lighting. How much of this is floating geometry? You have a very good start here.

Cheers! I've pretty much finished the modelling now, just UVs and textures left. A lot of it is floating, most of the bits that are slightly further in/out are along with the screws and stuff.

Do you do anything other than guns by any chance?

It's been ages since I last posted anything on here though, have I only posted guns or something? xD

Smoothing error on pistol grip? By the way is it possible to look at a wireframe, and a close up of the rails? Also the screws look too small, make them the same size as the hole its self.

Apart from some minor things, looks really good.

Are the front screws meant to be off-centre in relation to their holes? I presume you'll be adding in the trigger later. Otherwise it looks good, what's the polycount?

All browsers should come with compulsory spell checks.

It must be good, because just from the pictures I could tell it was a G36

Thanks guys! Yeah, the screws were originally supposed to be off-centre like that (that's how it was in my reference) but I'm pretty sure the reference was wrong xD I've fixed it now and made a texture.

Pretty much finished version:

I'm gonna be putting it on turbosquid for £20, does that seem reasonable?
