I wanted to know if anyone else on here collects Gas Masks? I've started collecting some and at the moment I have the Russian GP-5 and the Russian PBF. Both are in working order, unissued military surplus which I bought online from ebay.

I'd like to get my hands on a British S10 Gas Mask, but they can go for around £35-75, so are quite expensive to have in a collection.

Where abouts do you live? There's a great little place in Camden market (London) which has plenty of interesting surplus.

I have the first one you posted myself ^^ Gorgeous, and fun to wear ^^ Looking for gasmasks myself too, not too easy to find - and even harder to find ones that I like...

I'm in Liverpool, so London is a bit far to go shopping, but a few friends want to go there for Christmas or afterwards, so I might go look if I can find the place.

The GP-5 is a nice mask, but you can't or at least I can't wear it long before the eye pieces start to dig in and it becomes uncomfortable, but if there was a gas attack, I would rather have the pain than take it off xD (Its probably due to the metal rim holding the glass in place)

Ebay is the best place to find them Quik, plenty on there. Just make sure you shop around before buying because some people like to charge silly amounts for them when they are not really worth what they are selling them at.

I got my PBF from a seller in Lithuania, was the cheapest and it came pretty quick.

You say that now, but not as much fun when you actually have to wear it. Then it just down right sucks!

Exactly. Perhaps the worst training I ever endured was NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) training. Try wearing one of those and a full chem suit while trying to shoot, move and communicate in the field at 90+ degrees. Your love affair will quickly fade away.

Quoted for agreement; been there, done that (though it was over 120 ).

Too bad I had not known this. I could have used you in our unit's last training course.

LoL, kamikaze? why would I need a gas mask if I was going to take my own life xD

They work, as in I have tested them with strong smells and I can not smell the smell while wearing the mask. I believe they are at least useful for teargas, not claiming they can save me from other stuff.

Depends entirely on how interesting you want to make the experience, I guess. After all I can only guess at your motives for wanting one of these things.

yeah that too, military stuff is cool - although.. despicable from a "theyre used to shoot people" perspective, they are cool - and sweet to look at. I guess military stuff just fascinates me

I've always wanted to wear a gas mask and see what it feels like. Unfortunately I never got the chance to

Cool collection.

Well the GP-5 has to be the cheapest gas mask you can buy, so why not try it out Dark Frager?

Never thought of that if it's cheap I might buy it, but I'm only ever gonna probably pick it up once (unless there is some sort of emergency where I have to ) So I'm not gonna buy it yet, maybe when I have some spare money.
