I'm working on a game in FPS creator free edition and I need to know how to make the lighting darker so that the lights I do put in stand out more.

Hi Shadowclaw257 and welcome. Sounds like your ambience is set too high. Try adjusting it by using the "< and >" keys while testing, then hit "Enter" to set it. Also do a forum search on ambience & lighting for more info. Dont forget the manuals.

Also an overlooked trick to decrease brightness, is to darken the color of the lights so they are not as intense, rather than just changing the light range.

You can get some really moody lighting by using a large light range with a darker light color.

like this:

SPECS: Intel Corei7 3770k, Nvidia GTX680, 16GB RAM, Win7 Pro

The really dark colors (almost black) look gorgeous btw. Its best just to experiment on a few levels to find what you like.

On a related note. Go to the folder where your FPSC is installed in and open a file called "setup.ini" with your notepad. In this file make sure that all entries named "lightmapambient" are set to 0.
