The idea/concept I have is from after seeing this:
http://javilop.com/gamedev/c-game-programming-tutorial-non-tile-based-arbitrary-positioned-entity-engine-editor-like-in-braid-or-aquaria-games/
I like the apparent simplicity of the editor, and while I'm not using their source code, the video gives me enough to work from.
I'm still working out the best method for storing the data in which to recreate the map.
Features
- Scroll wheel to flip through images
- Scroll-click to place selected image on screen
- left-click to drag image
- right-click to rotate image
- shift+left click to scale image
- 'B' to toggle OBB
Eventually, you'll be able to change the hue/color of the image and possibly distort the image. Plus, multiple layers and configurable parallax backgrounds.
