Hi guys,

Finally got my Raspberry Pi today! Yay!

It's a cool little computer, so small my camera had a real time focusing that close up.

Thanks for the video Daniel. I'm slightly concerned about the stability of the sockets though, especially when plugging-unplugging-plugging-unplugging...

I am keen to see what you make with this Daniel...

I am wondering what the waiting time is like now, and frankly I have no idea which company to order from...

They are getting more boards in than before, I ordered from RS. Having said that, if you don't mind paying a little more for the first revision there's pi boards on amazon for around £35, I only paid £10 less and suffered a 4 month wait for it. So if you are keen to get started with it, there are faster ways.

@Nickydude

The sockets are very firmly in place, there's no movement at all on any of the sockets. The board doesn't flex, and the SD Card holder is firmly on the board.

If you are concerned about the way I unplugged and plugged the Pi in and out to reset, I've solved this by switching it off at the socket. I only pulled the usb lead out in the video so users can see what I was doing with the board itself. I've just ordered a case for £4 off amazon which will help protect the device a bit more. Once I've set it up with a dedicated set of leads and monitor there's really no reason to unplug anything, after all I don't do it with my desktop why should I do it to the pi? The only thing I should be swapping about is the SD Card.

Minecraft, LOL, control life - conquer nature, and while your playing at living in real life, they drink sunny delight and munch on hot pockets, latters they drink cheap beer from supermarket, while watching pron on internets and crying themselves to sleep.
I made a film on this.

see 26 seconds, image on the right, thats what people who play Minecraft think they are. Minecraft reality is 28 seconds, image on the right.

I mentioned that above already

I still haven't figured out why minecraft is so popular. It's boring as heck!

hey is it possible to make rasberry pi to run off some rechargable battery of some sort? because this thing has very good potential to make a portable device like an mp3 player.

That'd be a large MP3 player.

if its possible to give it at least 50 hours of battery life and at least 100+ gb of storage, the size would be worth it
