So I hit a bump in the road - a new programmer (my partner) decided to do some programming for the first time - but installed an old plug-in - it caused all my projects to not compile (f5) - they appear to compile, but never do unless (f6) - no error is reported unless (f6) is used, in which case it "fails to compile exe". I uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled and am still suffering the same problems. I am windows 7, amd fx 950 8 core processor, HD ati 4550 video card, 8 gig ram.

I noticed that the compiler is not called, except in debug (aka if you push F6) with command prompt open, f4, f5, and f7 do nothing. I've reinstalled in both the old disk (C:\) and a new disk... as well as looked up the Registry values and deleted them after uninstalling. No avail and I don't know what to do... the partner shall buy a new computer if he wants to code... hands off my baby!!! Baby!!!! lolol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I wasn't quite sure where to post this as I've not had many issues with DBPro. It didn't seem like a bug. Any tips or help solving the problem. I've also looked and found that sometimes PAK and BAK files can cause issues if they're not deleted and replaced by the editor. Even new projects wont compile, replaced code wont compile - a simple "do-loop" two liner wont compile. I am without hope.

I see a lil' byte, its 1/4th a dword, Double float, Double float - but it doesnt beat a Global. Very very frightning, integers dividing me! Look a constant oh a constant. Oh-oh I just want the byte!

What?

Which version of DBP are you using, which editor, and did you install DBP correctly and run once with Admin Mode?

Also have you licenced all your plugins?

i had similar issues, my compile would only work in debug mode. I just reinstalled dbpro and it all worked again.

Could the editor options have been changed somehow? Have you checked Tools/Customize here:

first of all I am using 7.6, second I dont know how to find the editor type but im 90% sure its the synergy base, and I installed in a location where windows isn't present (dissolves the admin issue to a degree) but just to be safe as well - with full admin. privileges.

Also Valentine, I've been running this version clean since it came out. I've been with Dark Basic since 2009/2008.

Kezzla I won't come down hard on you for not reading the post - I have done so numerous times to no avail. Keep a steady eye and open ear.

Had a little hope GG for minute, but no, those settings as well as the rest are as they should be - there is something internal that has seriously f%$#ed my s*&^ up

Problem solved - The update did it. I can only gather that values were not changed with the same installation of dbpro and update 7.6 - but whatever happened, whatever values needed to be changed or restored, the new update either corrected the issue, or resolved the problem with new values... and by values, I mean whatever was not correcting with reinstalling.

Back to programming and thank you all!!!!!!!
