Of course I will invest the same amount here as I was pledging on KS as soon as the details are here. And much more if they confirm dynamic shadows.

@Shando - too bad I haven`t read your profile before, I spend the month after the ITD release in Australia and almsot a week around Sunshine Coast, would have been a unique opportunity for some cooper ales while talking about game making...

I already own two other Game Engines as well as DBP, FPSC etc. and was going to get this for my 12 year old to mess around with. At the new price it's just too expensive for something that won't be used that often!"

This pledge price won't be for the final product, just for early beta access and a *ton* of model packs. The total price of all those model packs already is over 50 pounds just by themselves!

I personally would like a pledge option to recieve just the final product when it is released, in the dvd boxed form. I'm not really interested in the betas, or the model packs, as I have many of them already, and I create much of my own media anyway.

Just my 2cents

Am I overlooking something? The price for FPS Creator and nine model packs is only $29.99

I think we should just wait until we see the thread next week regarding the details before we start espousing negative comments or views.

I know those who are, wish TGC the best; but still . . .

I do not know what up with you all but lets be happy this is happen.now we know this is a sure thing i will pledge. thanks Rick for the good news. fpsc needed to start back with a new look. about the dynamic shadow not much of a big deal for me but they may have it work from a shader. but its whatever to me. im glad this is happen. I will support fpscR because TGC is going to need it. they may have risk their neck out for us on this. so either you pay to pledge or when they release fpscR you pay the same or more. if all really want to develop a video game better than the ones you been working on with fpsc. get the money and support this.

I am just excited to learn Reloaded got the green light. Thanks TGC for that.

Reading between the lines, i guess the £50 pledge includes the product Reloaded as well as 10 Free model packs. I do not know how much Reloaded will be sold for, but i guess the money is like you pay for the product before it is released, or like pre-ordering the product. Maybe the product will be sold for £50 when it is released. So by pledging, you pay for the product now, and get your hands on beta version as well as 10 free model packs.

In Kickstarters, by pledging to £45, you get:
- The classic version free
- Full Reloaded version free
- Access to Beta
- a Poster
- 21 Model packs.

Guess if you pledge now directly to TGC, you miss out on 11 free model packs as well as the poster.

For me i will be buying Reloaded anyway now or later. So if my £50 is to help them to pay back the investor, so be it. I do not really care how TGC spend the money. I get my Reloaded anyway.

Now i will be much happier if TGC will consider adding the Inventory System (one of the stretch goal) as well as export function to iPhone App to Reloaded. If i can export to iPhone App, i will forget all the other stretch goals.

How do I pay the internal funding?

I'm ready to back this now. Lee is one of the best programmers in the world, I'm not surprised he got the funding privately. Probably from some bigwig at Intel or something that he mentioned the project to.

This is incredible news, I though FPSCR was doomed. But anyway, I will definitely be pledging to this internal system (as long as there's paypal)

I do hope TGC adapt national policies and use SAGEPAY instead to support the local economy... Or make a direct account to pay into...

Also SAGEPAY is apparently cheaper for us Brits when compared to PayPal...

Just saying...

this is all great news... $80 bucks is a little steep though. Rick might change the minimum bid after getting our feed back. They seem to be listening on this one.....

ALSO GREAT NEWS is that they will work on DBP along with this. IF they release it as DB ELITE and charge for it, the investor will make money off that too.

A note of interest.

When I was checking Windows 8 out this was a part of the requirements for installation:

Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver. Hmmmm?

No mention of DirectX 11.

Probably because MS knows that dx9 has a decade of maturity under it's belt (first version of dx9 launched in 2002). A LOT of new dx11 games need new drivers from Nvidia or ATI to sort out graphical glitches. You don't have to worry about that with dx9 anymore. Like we talked about in the other thread, dx9 is the right choice for FPSCR, in my opinion.

We don't need the headache of glitchy dx11 drivers from ATI/Nvidia breaking something every other release. Dx9 is stable and mature, and more than capable.

Well that's why they're called minimum specs. Win8 would not run on DX8, what a surprise, most computers still have outdated drivers and video cards that can not run DX11 or even DX10. Once the next gen Xbox comes out next year, I predict a rapid shift from DX9 to DX11. It will be forgotten just like DX7 was years ago.

DX7 & DX8? what? all windows are backwards compatible with old DX versions. but DX11 is nothing but a big hype its like putting all your game in some super HD level. there is nothing wrong with DX9 it been up dated to be on the same level with DX11 but without the HD graphics. plus the next gen consoles will not still as powerful as the PC. FpscR will be fine using DX9 but this time around fpscR will make better use of DX9 and what it can really do. with Bond1 on the shader and model work this is going to be awesome.cant wait to get my hands on a beta version this is going to be so worth $80 bucks.

Yes it's backwards compatible, but unless you have DX9 compatible hardware you will not be able to run Win8. Believe me, I was around the time when DX7/8 was superseded by DX9 and most folk said the same stuff - "nothing but a big hype". In fact few years down the road nobody remembers the 7 and 8.

I'm fine with FPSCR running on DX9 but it is a bit alarming that a company puts all of it's development efforts into "soon to be outdated" technology so late in it's life cycle.

Let's just hope by the time FPSCR is released DX11 won't yet become mainstream.

Quote: "Today we’re able to share some wonderful news with you. A private investor (who wishes to remain anonymous) has funded the project up to the 60K level."

Quote: "This means that we’ll be developing FPS Creator Reloaded and all the features listed. We’re really excited about this and we’re looking forward to evolving the software as planned."

So if the project has already been funded up to £60,000, then all features listed under the 60k bracket should be able to be done (developed) without any extra money from any other users.

Unless I can see a serious attempt at all (most of the features promised in the £60k bracket)
I will be quite sceptic about paying any extra money upfront for features that might get done half-heartedly in beta stages. I know that developing this project will be a huge task and might take several months (or over a year) to incorporate all the features that has been listed, and there is no guarantee that all features will be available anytime soon or if they will ever be able to finish this monster task.

Therefore I will only be willing to pay any extra money if most of the features listed are completed as promised. Paying £50 (or Even £200) Once these features are available is more than acceptable to me.

I think they are just going to do the 60K features, not the features in any of the stretch goals.

I will certainly pay upfront or as Rick said, internal pledge to be able to get my hand on the new FPSC Reloaded.

I read in the Kickstarters page that some backers are willing to pay monthly, if £50 is too expensive for poor people like me, maybe Rick can arrange for monthly payment, say 25£ a month or so. Rick can always refuse to send him the software of he never pays in full by the time the product is release.

I am a Noob. I have no clue what all the features listed in 60K can do. Can someone give me an example of the power of Reloaded?

look forward to this with major impatience

rock n roll here comes the fun

@ cecil, a pay system sounds like a good thing, especially if the people need to pay in installments, maybe have a word with tgc about this, as i think this could get a lot of people who cant pay by bulk can do it this way. worth a shot.

also the stretch goals will happen just seen it, but not till after the main product is done.

guys will have to wait till saturday now, as the other cash aside went on xmas presents. but the pay check comes in on friday yeeha!

an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of game creation!!!
