Me and my team are working on a side scroller hack n slash, and we made a basic tune to start with, but we want to know which music style we should go with.

I like both track, but would like to hear what you think. Just go here: The Hamster Project web player, and listen to the main menu track. It is about 42 seconds long, then hit Start Game, and listen to that one, it is about 40 seconds long.

Which one do you prefer?

(Also, that is the link to the current version of our project, and we will update to that link, unless we say so otherwise on the site.)

Why don't you just put it up on sound cloud... I for one am not installing the buggy Unity web player...

I was so looking forward to listening to this...

I suppose I could.

One reason I was thinking of just doing this is also so people could test play the game as levels get made. ATM, kinda empty. I will look into sound cloud, is that the name of the site?

Well this is the music board... Not a WIP board >_<

Yes soundcloud.com

You can embed soundcloud clips here thanks to I believe it was Jeku so check his past posts for the sound cloud thread I believe it is simply the URL surrounded by [ soundcloud ] and of course the closing tag

I understand that this is not a WIP board.

I got them uploaded, happy they accept .ogg.

These two tracks.

The main criticism I am looking for is style of music for a hack n slash game. The music will be polished up as we go into the project, would just like feedback on what style of music we should work more with.

(I will try to use the soundcloud tags, link will suffice for now as I edit and get the soundcloud to work, maybe.)

Tried, came up dry on sound cloud tags.

Jeku - http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=200409&b=2

Music 1 - The snare is a bit... high pitched

Music 2 - Is awesome both for menu and in game

Kuresuna ? Nani?

But I think for a hack'n'slash game it needs more of an intense beat... maybe speed it up as the player makes attacks? or the reverse and slow it down...

[soundcloud]the-hamster-project/sets/kuresuna[/soundcloud]

Kuresuna is the artist making the music.

And yeah, as I said, we are looking for what style we should stick with, and make music to fit situations. Thanks for the feedback!

Sweet! Worked this time, thanks for that link!
