How cool is this!

Quote: "Star Wars fans around the world are coming together on the internet to construct a real-life version of the film's Millennium Falcon spacecraft.

Conceived by a US fan in Nashville, Tennessee, the Full Scale Millennium Falcon Project aims to use the internet to crowd-source efforts to build the famous ship, which will be adorned with all the trimmings aside from a working engine."

Building a few PVC pipe cannons is a far way from a 1:1 scale spaceship. Good luck, but I won't be surprised if this never finishes.

Seems like a really cool project but I too have my doubts about it. I mean it's being built in Tennessee. What are they gonna build it with, bibles?

I think the fact it's going to be in a kids adventure site makes it more feasible. If school kids come along and do other science activities (perhaps on the ship mock up?) and other things, then they may get some financial backing to finish it.

I bet we see it on Kickstarter about 8 times over the coming years.

I'm going to be helping. I'm thinking I might make some of Princess Leia's underwear. That'd be a valid contribution!
