Hello. I did a clean install of my laptop today, and ofcourse DBPro can't be missing in my apps menu.
When opening DBPro(I'm the administrator) I get a pop-up box, "Activation service"
I have to click "Get Free Order Key", enter my e-mail adress, and press next.
It seems like the program crashes for a second or 2, but then this error code is below the e-mail adress box :

HttpSendRequest failed.
Error Code:12057
Unable to get response from server. A firewall may be blocking this application.

I have disabled my Windows firewall, no luck.

Any idea what this could be, can I still code properly when I close the pop-up boxes as a temp sollution?

Note : I'm using the same e-mail adress as my first time of activation(I am now activating a second time). Could this be the problem?

Additional note :

Same issue here...entered the same email I logged in here to post

also tried an alternate email address that was not registered here, same problem. Server down? Are you still offering Free Order Keys?

thanks,
Matt

I'm getting the exact same error trying to (re-)verify my genuine-article DB Pro CD.

I suddenly started getting an annoying blank white window appearing on top of my editor screen, which seems to be some kind of TGC advertising window. That has never happened before today, and I've been using DB Pro since August 2003.

Thought DB Pro might have somehow forgotten it was fully registered. Apparently an advertising window does appear if you're a free user, but I've never seen it before because I've always owned the CD version.

I tried to re-activate my copy via the CD but just kept getting that message about failing to contact the server. Disabled my firewall, too, but it made no difference.

For me , the problem is solved. I've used the same e-mail adress, firewall was on.
How about you guys? Maybe it was just the server being down for a short period.

THIS > http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2000&page=upgrade7-62

OR

THIS

Make sure you have either of these two, I will skip the debate over the free version banner thing, just re-register and ensure you run in Admin mode for Plugin Installs or DBP unlocking as an extra measure of getting things done haha...

On the other hand, it could be that the server was doing some maintenance or whatnot...

EDIT

Odd link lol fixed

Yeah, server was down.

Didn't change a single setting and it worked for me this morning. Thanks for getting the server back online!
