The title says it all, folks. What would be the best Laptop available (as of 08/12/12) to me that would let me use FPSC at its Maximum Settings?
However, there is a pricing limit! (£500)

Even if there isn't any laptops available at that price that would let me use FPSC at its max,
thanks for the advice, if any.

Here are my current Laptop specs:

Windows 7 32-bit ACPI x86-based PC (although it's a Laptop)
ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Integrated Motherboard graphics
Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2080 @ 1.73GHz (2 Modules)

Any specs that I'm missing let me know and I'll hunt them down on Device Manager when I can.

i buy a laptop 4 years ago for 700 euros and i can play on high. My mother buy last week one for 400 and she also can play on high, so i think fpsc is not a programm what needs a high end pc

you need a script? I need useful requests at the moment!

Get a laptop with an i5 processor and dedicated graphics card and you should be good to go. HP tend to be very good value for money.

Definitely stay away from integrated graphics and graphic cards. They are the kiss of death. I even had what I thought was a NVIDIA integrated card and thought it was going to work well. A total disaster.

Marc Steene probably is right on with an i5 processor and dedicated graphics card. I would make sure that it is also a 64 bit and 4GB, at least, of RAM and plenty of Hard Disk Space for Virtual Memory use. I haven't been pricing lately but they do seem to be coming down in price.

THEORY - you know everything but nothing works. PRACTICE - when everything works but don't know why. For me, theory and practice are combined: nothing works and I don't know why.

Just to say 64bit is not simply referring to the operating system. The computer bus size is 64bit and dictates whether it is possible to run a 64bit OS in the first place.

I have an M17x R4 Alienware laptop, brilliant piece of engineering and does everything effortlessly. It is very difficult to find laptops of high spec for low cost. Laptops are so costly as the technology must be compressed into a portable form. Your best bet is to get a desktop. This would let you get the higher spec machines without going over budget.

Freshtech Galaxy 3
Processor: AMD FX Quad Core 4.2 Ghz
Memory: 8GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 2GB
HDD: 2TB

Catch with this particular model is that there is no OS and the screen must also be purchased separately. It does however show that its possible to get a high end gaming machine for a low price, provided you go for a desktop.

Beware of the GeForce 630M dedicated graphics cards. They are in a lot of mid-range laptops these days but don't really have a lot of power. It's complicated though since there are high end versions of the 630M as well but it can be really hard to tell.

I have an Asus K95V series laptop with 3rd gen. Intel i7 and 16GB of RAM. And unfortunately the slow edition of the 630M card. It's not a disaster (it works fine for FPSC) but it's not a card I would use for Crysis 3.
