JTEdit is great for converting 3ds to X, flawless in my opinion, plus a great modeller.

Then you can conver the X to BSP using the BSP compiler that comes with DBPro. Problem is it doesnt always work with some models (and has yet to work succesfully with mine )

I already can convert from .3ds to .x....but my prob is the bsp levels we are trying to convert are some really nice well made levels we have developed and the one that came with DBP just doesnt work how I'd like it too.

generally i've found just putting a big box round the level works quite well with the .x to .bsp compiler that comes with dbpro

ya but cart shop can export map files so you should be fine

i also should mention visable worlds. http://www.underwaredesign.com/

Redeye: Putting a big box around your level is a really bad idea. At least for half-life mapping. Something about wasting UV space for lightmapping or something.

I didn't read this whole thread but the whole "putting a box around your world to use VHE stuff in DBP" isn't nec anymore. Make sure the world is completely UNGROUPED and the surrounding box is not needed - sorry if I was off topic or whatever - just passing thru

Everything on the map was ungrouped...still didn't work...all the models are solids aswell..just boxes with a few edits with the mesh...still should be considered solid objects.

I'll try a few things here and there though.
