Hello,

What happens when a Dark Basic Pro game is run on an old machine ( hardware ) that does not support a minimum of shader model 2.0 ?

Will the game run with the shaders disabled or will it stop running or crash in the middle when the shaders are put into effect ?

Thanks,
Fallout

I don't know if it'll crash or not. I think the load effect command will simply fail, but commands like GET MAXIMUM PIXEL SHADER VALUE() will allow you to determine if 2 is supported and then act accordingly.

@Fallout: Thank you for pointing me to the required function to check for availability of shader models - it is surely one way of doing it.

@Sergey K: Thank you for the confirmation.
