I know that TGC is coming out with the new FPSC which I am sure will answer at least some of the speed problem. I recently wiped out my system and set it back to factory defaults. I got rid of some things I did not want, installed FPSC, set up a 4x4 room and walked around and speed was acceptable. I dropped 1 static desk in the room and speed dropped to about 10 FPS. My system is not the greatest. It is a Vaio laptop but it should do better than that, it is Vista. Here is the specs

Intel Pentium duelCPU T2330 1.6 Ghtz
1 gig mem
32 bit
I think this is the graphics
mobile Intel 965 express chipset family

It should handle a little more than 1 4x4 room with a static desk in it.

Any Ideas, maybe how to optimize FPSC and or my system to get a little more out of FPSC?

I would really like to use FPSC but have not touched it since. The new FPSC will not come out for almost a year and a lot can get done between now and then if I can just get things running a little better!

Thanks

Merry Christmas

Sorry but no, it shouldn't. You didn't tell us how much of the 1GB RAM that the video is using, but it really doesn't matter much. In the BIOS, adjust the amount of video memory as high as it will go, but this will take from the system memory which is already to little for Vista the hog. The Intel 965 express chipset is barely a 3d card. Your best bet will be to add memory, up to 4GB if you can get it.

If you are running on a low end system you can also go into the setup.ini and change postprocessing and newblossershader to =0 .

Like xplosys said you will certainly need more ram as well.

I changed those settings and went to about 60 FPS. I don't even know if I can upgrade mem. in this laptop. I would like to, I would also like to buy a new one. Alianware gaming rig or something close.

For gaming pcs try to get a good desktop because it's easier to get ones that have a faster hard drive speed. A lot of $700+ laptops only have 5400 RPM (at least where I live).

Don't waste your life

Ok 2 more questions, I can live with a lower speed on my system for now but if I continue to develop with FPSC I can continue to learn things. Will a program I make with FPSC on my system run normally or better on someone Else's system that is better than mine?

V1.20 is still beta, 6 I think does anyone know when the official update will be out? I usually don't install them until the official update comes out. I am afraid a beta may screw up things worse.
