FPS creator V1.19.009

Hi

I'm having problems with floating weapons & health.

It is fine under the editor (when I pressed editor or use page up/page down ) to position them on the table.

But, when I start the game both the weapon & health are floating?

Any suggestions?

Do I need to make changes to the script?

Hello Fhalo,


After choosing your weapon or health pack it will move together with the mouse so next you should be positioning the mouse on the table, barrel, crate, or whatsoever stuff else and hit the Enter key and not the Page Up or Page Down key because that action will put the weapon or entity on the table, but it's not finished yet.

After that, then you ought to click with the left mouse button to leave the object on the table surface.

That's it!

Next it's time to test your game level and if all went right your entities should be on the table now.

If you are using SciFi weapons/ammo/health (stock), make sure the ammo is not using the "ammoglow.fpi", the weapon is not using the "weaponglow.fpi", and health the "pickuphealthglow.fpi" scripts. No matter how many times or often you press "Enter", "Page Up/Down" to put on a surface such as a table, the "floatrate" command will make them float.


There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.

Black Fox is right.

In fact, I fully forgot about that detail for sci-fi entities: weapons with (AI Scripts>> Main >>weaponglow.fpi) selected, health with (AI Scripts>> Main >>pickuphealthglow.fpi) chosen and ammo with (AI Scripts>> Main >>ammoglow.fpi) picked out

Thanks for the reply.

I did a simple test, with a single table, & ground & single weapon.

I'm using the following:-

modtableA4 from furnitureb, from sci fi and colt45, as the weapon.

Col45 is using the weapon.fi script.

In the editor I've placed the colt45 on the table.

But, when I run the game in test level. The colt45 is floating.

Is they a bug or do I need to try the beta update?

Are you using Version 1.19? This is a common error in 1.19.

This is a bug which somehow slipped through with V119.

I strongly recommend upgrading to V120 beta, a far more stable version, even though it's still in beta.

Thanks again for this, and to confirm it is a bug.

Will try V120.

Hope I can continue with my very first simple FPS game.

Great!

Repeated the simple test with the same table & colt45. It works.

I'm now using V120.006 Beta.
