Turns out, the reason the ‘error 3002’ message would be displayed on a few player systems was due to a altered/replaced Microsoft ADPCM codec file that would not allow DBPro to load and play such files. The filename is msapd32.acm. After troubleshooting the issue with several people who encountered the problem, the most likely cause for it was the installation of the ‘K-Lite’ codec pack. For whatever reason(s), installing that codec pack altered the codec file in some way as to prevent DBPro from loading and playing them. To repair it back to the default Windows setup, the original msadp32.acm file needs to be put back into the System32/SysWOW64 folders, overwriting the altered version K-Lite apparently installs. Once that’s done, DBPro programs can again play adpcm files.
