is there any way to kinda apply rainbow shading but have a texture under it or something with the same effect. i have tried both sphere mapping and set specular from 100 to 5000 and as soon as i put the texture on the specular doesn't make the object shine any more can any one help.

cheers

Change the texture you are mapping over with, with sphere mapping for instance very pale and pastel shades will let the background texture through more clearly than a mid shade or dark colour texture.
