Thanks for the heads up. I'm still using PS7 but this looks very similar. At my age, I can't handle too much of a learning curve at once.

Coming up with page unavailable, but this is awesome news, so hopefully the page becomes available again, can't really argue with free software like this.

Apparently this wasn't Adobe's intention, though big tech blogs did promote it as such. Hate to be bearer of bad news, but methinks it's a false alarm.

Oh well. Luckily it's not much different from my Version 7 so I'll just uninstall it.

It seems like it might have been a good idea to explain that on the download page, don't you think?

Yeah, seems like somebody at Adobe made a stupid move. Not sure why they can't just attach people's code to their account? I've got a copy of Carrara 5 Pro, it's no longer supported by Daz3D and I can't get a hold of a download as they don't have it on their site as it's an old copy, but I've still got the disk and my registration code is still tied to my account. I am sure Adobe could have offered those downloads without the serial numbers, seems they made it waaaaaay too easy to be abused or misinterpreted.

Shame, I was looking forward to using Photoshop CS 2 as I am planning on buying a Wacom tablet soon, ah well, I picked up Art Rage Studio Pro in the Steam sale, so I'll prolly just end up playing with that instead.

Quote: ""The download page is deliberately open to anyone who signs up for an Adobe ID (which if you agree gives them an opportunity to include you in email shots). On the download page they give a serial number for each product and that serial number is the same for everyone. When you install the products the license says that the product can be used by anyone who has "obtained" it from Adobe (they deliberately don't use the words bought or purchased). It would be a highly technical breach of the license if someone put the files up for download other than from the Adobe site because then you wouldn't be obtaining it from Adobe.""

Based on this, and I con confirm the information about the license agreement, if you installed it from the website you are quite safe.

if you get a wacom tablet it will come with adobe elements. the only difference between elements and cs is that on cs you can export in cmyk which only matters if you want to actually print commercially. elements is perfect for a majority of people. nothing wrong with it.

I'm not a complete idiot -- Some parts are just missing.

That's good to hear at least, I never could get along with tools like GIMP, I did buy Art Rage Studio Pro, which is good for painting, but lacks many editing features. My art skills aren't brilliant, but I am much better with a pen than I am with a mouse.
