Looking for a good 24' - 27' monitor for use in graphics and photoshop so correct colors are important.

Preferably an old-style CCFL lamp (or if LED IPS monitors are as good as older IPS LCDs i really dont know)
somewhere from $500 - $1000

me and my coworker will be buying one tomorrow so maybe you guys can give us some ideas on this.

If anything I'd assume LED would give you the best colors by far in this day and age! Perhaps not, but that's what I'd assume.

I have no signature.

I know we do IPS LED at LG within your budget. There's LCD monitors too, but they're all TN.

They're selling it on Amazon for £223.52

I don't know how LED compares with LCD as I tend to work more with LG's washing machines and fridge-freezers.

There are alternatives like Acer, Asus and Dell. But they're all LED.

Although is 4 inches too small I recently purchased this:

Really notice the difference, I have it side by side with this:
http://www.amazon.de/LG-Flatron-L225WT-Widescreen-Kontrast/dp/B000YID93I

Not sure if its because its IPS but its much sharper and brighter. My old screen looks blurry to me and I need glasses to see it clearly but with the new one I don't have this issue.

I use a 32' LCD TV, it was only $250, it works awesomely too.
For LED, you might be able to get a 32' TV for around $400, but I'm not sure If you are specifically wanting a 27-29' screen.

IPS monitors are perfectly colour calibrated(AFAIK), so a standard TV won't suffice for this purpose.
