Hey, in this project I'm working on, I'm trying to get a specific object on top of a table or bed. But i don't want it to be a whole layer taller where the height is absurd and there are spaces.\

As for the orientation, I know you can press "R" and it will rotate the entity, prefab, segment, and marker, but is there any way to do a smoother rotation? As if I want the entity to be hanging half off of a desk or something.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Press enter when above the entity to place upon it, use key's 1-6 for various rotations on x,y,z, press and hold shift for finer rotation. Read the manual.....that's how I know these things

I don't trip over...I do random gravity checks.

OMGosh, all these years and I missed that one. I never really needed a finer rotation so never looked into it. Thanks Rolfy.

THEORY - you know everything but nothing works. PRACTICE - when everything works but don't know why. For me, theory and practice are combined: nothing works and I don't know why.

I should add that PgUp and PgDn keys will raise and lower the entity, I have to hold shift as well on my laptop but cant remember if this needed for a desktop.

You cant use these rotations on prefabs and segments, only entity's, for obvious reasons.

Or, press and hold Ctrl for super stupidly quick rotation!!

I actually use this feature when placing objects that are the same. I press and hold Ctrl + R, then just click randomly in the area that i wanted to place the items. Gives a more randomised feeling when placing barrels and such.

Thanks! Now it makes sense. Time to replace some boxes that apear to float midair. lol

And that randomizing feel, that was pretty hard to get with only 4 rotations, now i can do so pretty random ones.

THANKS GUYS!
