Hello all I would be really greatful if anyone could answer some of my questions I have.

I've been playing with the darkBASIC PRO trial for two weeks now, it's almot up and I'm thinking of laying down some money for the full version, but I would really like some clarification on certain things...

1) Purchasing darkMATTER 1 will give me access to more 3D Models and Animatics but is it only compatible with class darkBASIC?? The upgrade program that comes with darkMATTER 1 contains upgrades that are already present on darkBASIC PRO.

2) Will purchasing darkMATTER 2 as well give me more license free models or just increase the poly count of the original darkMATTER?

3) What model formats can I use in a darkBASIC PRO project? I am aware of some of them but would really like to know them all so I can be certain if my Modelling and Animating programs are capable enough.

If anyone can answer just one of those questions I would be greatful.

Thanks a bunch,
Adam

Easy questions ...

1) The models can be used with DBPro too. The only part of DarkBASIC that is DarkBASIC-specific is the inclusion of the enhancement pack - something that DBPro doesn't need.

2) DarkMATTER 2 is a complete set of new models

3) Currently X, 3DS, MD2, MD3, MDL. When the DBO internal format settles down, then I'm sure that there will be plugins made other model formats too.

Maybe ... at the moment, I know that MD2 model animation is slightly broken. I have no idea as to whether MDL has any problems or not ... sit down when I tell you this ... I don't have half-life *gasp*

Bah Halflife!

I tried to reinstall mine the other, I downloaded the full steam installer in order to get all the latest patches et all...

Two hours later it still hasn't accepted any combination of my registration CD key that I could think of... I even tried a few CD keygens and they dont work either.

To think that I have an original copy of the game and I cannot use it just in case some pirate (who could crack the thing in that time anyway) wants to play it.

God created the world in 7 days, but we're still waiting for the patch.

MDL support? Last I checked I couldn't load MDL models!

*runs off to test*

--Mouse: Famous (Avatarless) Fighting Furball

A very nice %it, indeed.

load object "C:\Games\Heretic\H2\DATA1\MODELS\golem_b.mdl",1
wait key

Crashes right out like I'm trying to load a 3ds (also broken). Very bad. Seems like everything but .x is broken until U6 (which will hopefuly fix everything).
