When static lights fall on the most segments they look 'tiled' eg. the segment edges really shows. I get the same effect on both 'shaded' and 'non-shaded' segments, and even a little bit on entities. I cannot connect this issue to a particular version of the engine because this problem has been around ev every now and then.

What can be the cause of this? Currently I'm using the latest beta of 1.20

Best!

Try changing a couple of lines in the setup.ini file in the "C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator" folder:

lightmaptexsize, lightmapquality

the higher the numbers the better the lighting will be. I have mine set at

lightmaptexsize=1024
lightmapquality=30

Remember to close FPS Creator before changing these otherwise they won't take affect.

I reject your reality and substitute my own...

I don't think he is referring to the quality Nickydude. If I'm correct, I too have the same issue. The lightmaps of mine look ever so jagged on the edges and unfortunately haven't fixed themselves with FPSC repairs. My lightmapping is even at 1024 - Texture and 100 - Quality.

I'm just curious if this is the same deal with him.

Yes! It sounds like we have the same issue. My lightmapping settings is like yours too. Lowering the ambience light makes it look a little better, and perhaps trying to put the light a bit 'away' cause of it's extreme intensity from where it emits, and the script command setlightintensity does'nt seem to work on static lights.

On some textures thou it looks even better, you hardly see the edges! so maybe the problem is that the textures aren't really seamless? I'm going to try this by using texture maker when I find the time. And then what really happens when lights hits textures I don't know.

One more thing: Light does not shine thru walls, floors or ceilings but entities behind these walls reflects the light anyway which is annoying

Is this issue showing up when use of shaders are turned on?

I get various issues using sharders including one similar to that described here and yes it is like many things FPSC - erratic.
