Hello,

Can anybody please outline the steps required to install the Dark Physics add-on along with its update for Dark GDK ?

There are two update files -

1. Dark_Physics_GDK_260509

and

2. DarkPhysics_GDK_261108

The samples compile after applying Dark_Physics_GDK_260509 update.

But then when I apply DarkPhysics_GDK_261108 update the samples do not compile any more !

I am using Visual C++ 2008 Express.

Somebody please help. I am stuck with this for days now.

Thanks,
MrValentine

261108 = 26th November 2008

260509 = 26th May 2009

Does that help make sense now? Should be the biggest clue... but in case you did not know, most of the downloads by the TGC use dated updates, hence the series of numbers...

I presume you know how to use an activated DLL so hope this helps...

Thank you Mr. Valentine for the important information.

I think I was applying the updates in the wrong sequence. I was applying 260509 first and then 261108 since 261108 comes after 260509
numerically. I guess that is the wrong line of thinking I was doing.

So if 261108 = 26th November 2008 and 260509 = 26th May 2009

then I should apply 261108 first and then 260509 ? Is that correct now ? Please confirm.

Secondly my account download section states that those update files were updated in the year of 2010 but unfortunately the creation time and date of both the updates are 2008 ! So is that what is available to everybody officially ?

When I install DarkPhysics for DBPro I always install 08 first then 09, I believe Dark Dame Studio was updated in 2010, and that may be the updated date, I believe Dark Game Studio was updated every 2 years since 2008 I believe is when it was launched, I am still reading issue 37 of the Newsletters, got 59 more to catch up where I started in 2010 ^^...

But Anyway, yeah Use 08 then 09 and I too have the same files...

I identified them as release dates as I am quite familiar with dates in pretty much any sequence...

For the UK the most common [And remember TGC is UK based] DD/MM/YY

Typically you have DD/MM/YYYY or simply DD/MM/YY
Alternatively in some countries you have MM/DD/YY
sometimes the year comes first YY/MM/DD

So as a '/' is not a good idea or even possible usually in file names, XXXXXX or XX-XX-XX in digits would usually indicate a date

Hope that helps
