Have you built the static universe before calling this command??
You need to define your static universe before the shadows can be cast....
you need to add all of your static objects (like one by one) using Make Static Object command, this will add each object you want into the static universe, then any lights you have set up will be used( someone correct me if im wrong but i beleive this is how it works.)
Check the DBpro Help "GAMEFX" to see the full list of commands assciated with static lighting and the static universe.
Hope this helps somewhat.

You could be done already.....stop trying to re-invent the wheel.

I believe it is best using a shadow shader fx instead of the built in shader as it is heavy on frame rates... check out EVOLVED Software's Shadow Shader

Hope this helps

So where is this reference to "static universe" at in the documentation?

Once more... I am reading. The information you are quoting is not in my documentation. Unless my version is out dated, I do not have GAMEFX. I performed a search and it did not come up.

You see, I am following examples from a book. I expect those examples to work in order to learn this gaming system. It usually doesn't take me long to get up to speed but if the example doesn't work and the documentation is not clear then I have to experiment or ask others who may have already come across the same issue(s).

If you are having an issue with your belief that I am not reading, please do not post an answer. Thank you.

By the way, The command in question doesn't work as in it doesn't highlight as a command would. It is as if DB Pro doesn't know that keyword. No amount of reading the manual will change how the editor works.

You mean a reply lol

As Ortu asked... Did you update DBPro to either U7.62 or U7.77? And have you tried pressing F1 on a blank line and looked at commands there...

If not then you should be asling 'Where can I find GAMEFX' rather than backlashing because he did answer your question...

Anyway, just starting out and don't know my way around Game Creators yet. I will look for updates...
