Is there any programmatic way w/in the language to ensure one animation completes before another one starts?

I've discovered the GetSpritePlaying command ...

If there's a more elegant way pls let me know, if not then pls excuse my egregious lack of proper research before posting. :-(

GetSpriteCurrentFrame , Detect the last frame and then start your next animation.
