"CrashOn_03_04_13.txt". I get this error message when I compile my programme.
The text says
"[COMMON]
PathToEXE=C:\darkbasic\vteaze 3 3 13\CrashOn_03_04_13.txt
[CEXE]
m_dwRuntimeErrorDWORD=0
m_dwRuntimeErrorLineDWORD=0"
The compiler produces a .exe file but the .exe doesn't stay on the screen for more than a millisecond or so.

The .dba file I am trying to compile contains only "suspend for key".
I have just reactivated DarkBasic after reinstalling it on a XP computer.
Can you help please?

You might have a previous executable file with the given name that is locked by the system (can happen if it is open or being read / written to by another program).
I would check your process list using the task manager or similar, terminate the program if it is running, go to the folder and manually delete the executable and then close and re-open the editor and recompile it.

Thank you (all the way from Sweden!).
I have created a new directory with nothing in it but the .dba file and with no other progs, ie deleting the .txt, .dbpro and .exe files.

Still no joy. .exe etc files are produced bu the .exe does not run except for a fraction of a second.
Back to the drawing poard as they say....

Also, when I use F6 (for the debugger), the screen shows blank with only suspend for key.
If I try to compile a longer prog with a .wav file in it, the .wav file plays!

A previous programme, much larger, which I compiled some time ago - the exe runs fine. So that rules out directx problems doesn't it?

Have you tried compiling something like:
?

btw "programme" should be "program" when referring to computer programming.

Thanks.
Yes I have. But the problem I had has gone away......I tried different editors and it came right during the swapping. You would think that a "CrashOn_" error would generate more messages via the forum.
