I am returning to fps creator and have purchased an extra 6 model packs to complete my game idea. I am hoping to sell this, I havn't looked into how yet but I was thinking steam and if it gets popular, open up my own website.

I am just curious whether any of you know or have sold any games made with fps creator and have any been successful?

I appreciate any of your feedback. Thanks

Also I don't know for sure if BlackFox has a commercial game out but I think him and his wife create things for clients with FPSC and he may be able to give you more information or advice about the commercial end of FPSC

I will have to read the post better. I think you are right, I recall seeing something about Unity. I think he talked up FPSC pretty good though. Right Unity but he did say he ported Doom 3 to FPSC. Just looked at the video looks good but seems choppy and slow.

Thank you both for your comments, it seems it has been done. Although they never became too popular or would make that much money, i'm sure it will be fun to make and at least pay for the money that i've invested so far into development.

What are you trying to do that has already been done? I have not really done a whole lot with FPSC. I am more into learning programming. Been playing around with DBP and c#lately but when I have had enough or get frustrated and take a little break I jump over here and play around with FPSC and also modeling and animation. It is fun and takes my mind off of my programming problems.

I think if I was going to do a serious project with FPSC I would continue playing around with this version, learn a little, scripting, get the layout for my levels down but wait for the new version of FPSC before getting serious. That's just me, I am sure a lot of people will tell you that you can do it with this version and I am sure you can. I don't know a lot about the new version so I am not sure if everything you do now will be able to be used in the new version without a lot of work.

Actually, I'm using Fpsc for Robolegs 2. Got a decent deal with a company that will publish the game to various distributors and outlets. Including Steam. Robolegs 2 will be a multiplayer release with a free download but then you purchase upgrades for weapons and armour.

If you produce a quality game it will inevitably be successful.

I live in South Africa. Into the Darkness demo was available on a demo disc that I get with a local gaming magazine.
Get a good distributor too.

In order to make cash, produce a good game and sell it for about $4. With fpsc you shouldn't be aiming on next gen gfx. Don't get me wrong, fpsc can produce some pretty gfx but it's not current gen. Focus on good gameplay but with decent visuals.

Ensure that you have a good team working on your game too.
