Hi All,
I\'m just looking at the example project
AGK/Projects/Native/IOS/projects/Sprites-ScrollingSprites,
does anybody know how the sprite \"goals_logo.png\"
is made tranperant ?

thanks,

Do you mean the actual image or how it appears in the demo?

What version of AppGameKit are you working with (I know you've said in other posts, but I'm being lazy asking again)?

You create a .png file that has parts of it empty (transparent).

It is the content of the image that determines if there is a transparency in the sprite created from it.

As far as I know, you cannot make a part of an existing sprite transparent. It has to be in the image used for the sprite.

So , I save an Image as a .png.
How do I make parts "empty" ?
There must be a "function" which sets
a color, for example Black (0,0,0)rgb as
the transparent color of the Image or the Sprite.
I think this is how it worked in GDK.

Thanks Ancient Lady,
what would I do without You,
not AppGameKit I guess.

cheers

You need to have a tool (like Adobe Photoshop Elements) that actually lets you edit the image and delete portions.

There may be other software out there that works, that is just the one I use (and it isn't free).

I can't find any commands that let you select a color for transparency (and I thought there was one). But I seem to remember that people had difficulty with it.

I'm always glad to help.

Hi AppGameKit Ios community,( if there is one )

is there anybody out there who can give more technical
advice or a technical explanation on how
alpha transparency and alpha masking works ?

Would be greatly appreciated,
regards,
Joachim

This is a question that applies to AppGameKit in general, not just the iOS community. Posting in the main AppGameKit Product Chat one might get a bit better response.

However, I will admit that there isn't a lot of action in this sub-forum.

And I'm worried about it !

Are there games in the AppStore which are made
with AppGameKit ?
Is it possible to create a commercial product
with AppGameKit ?

It would be great if I could get some feedback
from the developer community.

best regards,
Joachim

I know there are iOS AppGameKit games in the AppStore (Little Eggy and Space are ones I have installed).

I plan to publish in the AppStore when my WIP is ready.

A quick look in the AppGameKit Showcase sub-forum shows 12 AppGameKit iOS apps in the titles (there may be more that specifically didn't list iOS in the thread title).
