im hitting the memory cap whenever I try and make an outdoor level and its really starting to bug me, im on the last level of my short project. also. does anyone know how to do good out door lighting? like sunlight?

Can you show a screen capture of your outdoor map level.
Let us know which version of FPSC you are running and what type of graphics card you have. There are things you can do to make your outside scene a success, just want to see what you have already.

As far as realistic sunlight. Place one light with a range of 2500 or better on level 16 or above and place the light so you get the shadows you want. Set the light color to 200,200,15 and then adjust the Saturation to get your final brightness preference.

BTW the color is just a sugestion, You can use more orange for morning and mor red for dusk, Less saturation for cloudy days and so fourth.

i found out how to make sunlight, thank you for the help, I'm running a nvidia g 250 graphics card and version 1.20 beta 15of fpsc. also i finished my game, but when i reach the 5th level the whole game crashes.

Does the game crash when trying to build the game or as a built game ?

@superfreak, FPSC isn't great with outdoor levels but it can do it.

For sunlight, just place a light marker on level 15 then makes its "light range" to about 10 000. Beware that this will eat up that memory cap, so what I did was reduced the lightmap quality in the setup.ini and buildsetup.ini to 5.

5 is an extremely low number for light map quality, but in my game Robolegs I really had to drop the lightmap quality because of the amount of entities I use in each map.

also... when the game is built, the ambient light gets brighter. I have it really dark normally
