Hi guys,

Another day, another video tutorial. This one shows the user how to make a quick sprite based shadow. It's quick, basic but a useful cheap effect to add to any 2D game.

In the new video format I'm taking a single idea and writing tutorials for both DarkBASIC Professional, and App Game Kit, just click on the language you need.

Great tut!

It really adds a lot of "dimension" to otherwise flat looking games. I'm using sprite shadows on a current project:

To be honest I'm kinda taking a break from writing it at the moment. I've drafted four books in the last 5 months and self published two of them. So I need to do something different for a bit. At the moment I'm writing a children's novel, once that draft is done (I'm at 21,500 of my 80,000 word goal atm) I'll return to DBC and DBPro as well as the video version. At the rate I'm going at the moment I should have drafted this book around the middle of April, if I'm not done by the end of April I'll put it to one side.
