Hi Guys,

I was wondering if FPSC is suitable to have levels with a lot of enemies like in the classic games such as Doom or Quake. As I plan on having levels that have at times up 100+ enemies on one level.

Thanks guys

I don't think so. Perhaps if you use a mod that allows for more or mod the engine yourself to support it.

I believe it can do anywhere from 30-50. (Well, 1.19 and up, anyway).

I don't know whether reloaded will support more (probably will).

Trust me, I have these enemy problems sometimes. On the 4th level of Boarded (last level in the demo), I had to strip nearly 20 enemies and 10 allies because the engine kept crashing.

It still has 36 enemies and 6 allies. (42 total ai). Obviously nowhere near 100.

I'd say either mod the engine or wait for reloaded to come out.

Thank you for your info and reply, it has been of much help to me.

I am very much new to all of this and learning as I go and I would have no idea where to even start with modding the engine.

Would something like DarkBasic Pro be of any more capability for what I would be looking for?

Thank you and best regards

You can really have as many as you like. But you have to use triggers to load and unload characters dynamically as you need them. How to do this is covered in the manual in the documents folder in your FPSC program files.

Hello again Ray.

Thank you for that information. I really should have thought of that myself to be completely honest. I will give it a try and see how it goes.

Thank you and best regards

You dont need to have 100+ because FPSC does not support levels as large as in doom or quake. But you can have a large amount in the recent versions.

Without struggle,no progress and no result.Every breaking of habit produces a change in the machine.
