Hey I've wanted a Gamecube since day one but havnt been able to afford one until now, so I went out today and bought it along with four games (Resident Evil: Zero, Rebel Strike, Metroid Prime and Legend of Zelda) and oh my god I'm already thinking my pennies have been well spent, Zelda is such a beautiful game and completely flawless to play I've only played it for about an hour so far and it's quite possibly my greatest gaming experience since I was a kid. I've been playing 1st person shooters and nothing else really for the past couple of years, so I thought it was time i tried something else. Looks like i did the right thing, lol, i even find myself smiling as i play along... just wanted to share my opinion. Anyone else a fan here?

I was really suprised at how good the new Zelda was. The new style really suits the gameplay well. It was like a breath of fresh air for the series. I'd still like to see a 3D Link on the GC though.

Yer I think everyone wants to see a realistic version too at some point. But this'll do me for now then I can get onto Metroid Prime

It was ok, but graphics are no relpacement for gameplay, and the whole artist expetion of the game does not make up for the rather small (level-wise) game. Ico still is the best at expressing true artist and epic level front end graphics while still having truely great gameplay. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Link to the Past is still the best zelda yet (mind you I never completed the two Capcom GBC Zelda titles). I'm wondering when a next generation sytem will have a agame that accually has more levels/bosses than is prequil. Legend of Zelda, Mario, MGS, and Xenogears/Xenosaga; all of these game are shorter than the prevous one on the older system. I fail to see why we're making games that literally have thousands of times more memory, yet the games are shorter.

I agree about how good Ico is, the style really is amazing.

I love Zelda on GC, it's really brilliant.

Can't agree with you Arrow about MGS/MGS2 ... MGS1=2 hours to complete MGS2=10 hours (lotsa cutscenes mind)

if you have only been playing fps's the past two years-anything will look good-just because it's different. That's not to say that Zelda isn't good, but it seems as though, according to your original post, your head has been in the toilet for the past two years.

I got Legend Of Zelda Collectors Edition with my Gamecube. It has 4 Legend Of Zelda games on it. The 4th one is 3D, and has some nice graphics, It's not Windwalker, it's Mask of something..

Exactly, and its such a refreshing change I got drawn into fps by goldeneye and turok then went onto perfect dark and the timesplitter games, which then lead me halo and pc fps. for the past couple of years i havnt even considered a game if u cant shoot someone in it and if the view point isnt 1st person, but by doin this iv been missing out on all the other great games that have been released (except virtua fighter 4, hehe loved that )

I absolutely loved Zelda Windwaker. The gameplay was solid and the graphics were beautiful. I never actually beat the game. There is a glich in my saved game that won't let me get tri-force maps. I have everything that I need, but when I go to the places that I need to play the Wind or Earth music... nothing happens. I even started over and SAME thing. I even read some FAQ's online to see if I could possibly be missing something... but nothing. Grrr... Besides that I absolutely loved the game.

I haven't seen much improvment in FPS, I still think Perfect Dark is the best (Gameplay wise, the story was crap). I was and still not impressed with halo, I played all the way throught it and it was ok. Not that there can be a hold lot of improvement in FPS other than computer AI. The Rainbow 6 games are a step in the right direction though. I've seen the demo for the next one and it looks good.
