You buy a FPS Model Pack, and you get this clunky .exe file. You install a couple dozen of the model packs.

A couple days later, you want to find a program in your Programs and Features menu. But wait! There are 69 installations clunking up your menu. You cannot find the program, and this program happens to be a super virus. This super virus turns your computer into an evil artificial intelligence killing machine, which takes over the whole human race.

Don't let the world get taken over by Artificial Intelligence. Listen to this guide.

Now, a summary is, you can get the files without having to install them.

Step 1] First, all you need to do is to have some extracting program. Extract the .exe file. You should have a folder.

Step 2] Now get uniextractor (I got the portable version, since I hate installs.) Here's the portable link: http://portableapps.com/node/24531

Step 3] Run it.

Step 4] Now extract the .cab file that has a corresponding .hdr file with the same name. (Example: There is Data1.cab, a Data1.hdr, and a Data 2.cab, but no Data2.hdr, so we extract Data1.cab.)
Most of the time the one you need to extract is a smaller file.

Step 5] Go into the extracted Data1.cab folder, you should see your files in: Files!

Step 6] Dance.

Sounds good. I have a lot of model packs to install at some point, and it would be good not to have the programs menu cluttered with several of them.

Thanks for the feedback. I edited one of the steps because sometimes you have to extract a different data.cab due to it having the corresponding .hdr file.
