Hi,

I was recently looking at this impressive system created by Tax 78 that allows a user to jump between levels and allows them to go back to find them as they left them. I downloaded the files etc. but found that I have no idea how to set it up. The thread is too old for me to ask for help there so here's the link below. Anyone who understands how to set this up please help.

Thanks,
Derik

The download installer has help files (in JPG format) that are installed into the "Docs\Jump level system ----- setup" folder. They explain how to setup his "level jumping" system. You could also email Tax 78 directly, since he did create it and his email is in his profile. Unless someone else has it running, only Tax 78 can help you.

There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.

@ derik

What you are not clear of the system?
Let's go step by step

Begins with looking at the pictures in the folder "Docs\Jump level system------setup" as said by BlackFox

@all
v1.19 = works perfectly
v1.20 = wait for official version 1.20 to test the system

It's mainly about the "zones" you have in your levels. I'm not clear on what each of them do exactly and so I can't use them for test system. I was wondering if you could explain to me in more detail about what they do, where I place them, how to activate them, how to edit them for different levels etc.

Apologies, I'm the only one who can't understand this.

Also, in the The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Docs\Jump level system ----- setup\Setup script you seem to be selecting a new main script and name to your entities. Does this work for all entities? Or do are they working specifically for the ones you've used.

Sorry for the late reply.

Thanks,
Derik

@all, Sorry but I use a translator

Trigger zone and arrow

The trigger zone "level equal" and "global next level" you must insert in each level using the leap system.

At the first level and the last you can't use the jump.

The trigger zone "next level" is used to jump to the desired level, while black bolt setting in front of the trigger is used to return from the last level.

The black arrow should be renamed with the number of return level. Example: trigger "next level 3" ----> arrow "3"

PS: the levels are tested in buildgame, otherwise the system will not jump.

Setup for script

If you use 5 characters level it set this way:

level 2

character 1
name = 0 (optional, but helps in the setting of multiple entities)
start= appear1 - noCspawn0
destroy = crumble - noCspawn0 1 (or others destroy)

character 2
name = 1 (optional, but helps in the setting of multiple entities)
start= appear1 - noCspawn1
destroy = crumble - noCspawn1 1 (or others destroy)

level 3

character 3
name = 2 (optional, but helps in the setting of multiple entities)
start= appear1 - noCspawn2
destroy = crumble - noCspawn2 1 (or others destroy)

character 4
name = 3 (optional, but helps in the setting of multiple entities)
start= appear1 - noCspawn3
destroy = crumble - noCspawn3 1 (or others destroy)

... and so for others.

Every single entity keys, buttons, dynamic weapons, shippers and ports must averescript different between different categories, to prevent that an object is deactivated by mistake.
