Wow, how strange... 30 is a strange one, definitely no longer a child, no longer a young adult, but now a full fledged adult. no longer can I use the excuse..."but I am Still young, i am in my 20's I still have excuses!!

I am all out of excuses and am now officially... 30. the last year of my 20's has been a very adult one, with many growing up milestones. but I still feel a passing of the torch, The word whipper snappers seems more at home to me, I would rather sit in with a good movie than go to a fancy concert and party all night.

I speak with 20 year old's and can feel the old fart wind blowing up within me. I feel the yearning to talk of yesteryear when in the old days things were as I remembered them...

such is life, happy birthday to me!!! old fart...

I'm not a complete idiot -- Some parts are just missing.

Happy Birthday. I present thee with the Carrot of Birthday Celebration

(Edit: NOOOO, how did The Comet get the carrot?)

You may not be able to have your "I'm still young" excuse, but now you can start practising your "I'm too old" excuse.

I think 30 a few months ago, I know how it feels. Before it was easy to just say Hey I'm still in my 20s. Highschool wasn't that long ago. But now, I just get weird looks when I drive my van by the school after class....

Agreed, I'll be 32 in a month and I have a daughter about to turn 1. People are shocked to hear stories about me and my wife back in our party days which to us still feels recent and not that long ago but then looking back, we are quite different people from who we were then and we realize just how much time has passed. It all goes so quick.

20s are rough and turbulent as you try to find your way, 30s have been good though, everything begins to stabalize.

Happy Birthday and enjoy!

Happy Birthday old man.

My sister's 30th is next week, so I'll leave all the old jokes for then.

Well I hope you've had a good one anyway mate.

yeah, last night was my last night of my 20's so I was determined to have a late one. I regret nothing but both rue and lament last nights effort.

lol, That is unfortunate. I find that people with kids call me the the man now. "get out of the way of the man, dear."

good stuff mate, yeah, I find people look at me like a straightarse now, and occasionally I will share an anecdote about my metal band years and am generally met with open jaw shock, or I hear news stories about the problem with youth culture, and i think to myself I was way worse than that...wait I stopped doing that years ago...

now that I am 30 I will celebrate by having a BBQ with Dire Straits on the stereo and a couple of social beers...paradise.

That's not correct. Anybody can be 50 with brains of 20. Age and wisdom are not connected. That's not relative to this thread, just a reminder.

You can act like you're 16 till you're 32, then act like 32 till 64. Tis binary law. You are still only 4-bits old.

I don't like the sound of this - what happens when you're 64? I'd like to know since I'll be 64 in a few weeks.

You revert back to zero. Sorry I didn't future-proof the system by adding extra bits.

When I'm 64

When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a Valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out 'till quarter to three, would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

You'll be older, too. Aaah, and if you say the word, I could stay with you.

I could be handy, mending a fuse, when your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside, sunday mornings, go for a ride.
Doing the garden, digging the weeds, who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wightif it's not to dear. We shall scrimp and save.
Ah, grandchildren on your knee, Vera, Chuck, and Dave.

Send me a postcard, drop me a line stating point of view.
Indicate precisely what you mean to say, yours sincerely wasting away.
Give me your answer, fill in a form, mine forever more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty four?

There's more to becoming 64 than I thought! That was probably written circa '64 too. [Actually it was nearer '66 but '64 is close enough. I remember it well sadly. ]

@Mr Handy -As much as I really still wish not to become an internet Meme, I am touched by the effort you put into that picture. I have saved it to file and will keep it as a memento. Thank-you for your birthday wishes.
