Hi,

We have updated and improved the AppGameKit Gallery. So if you have apps you want to show off, please post them to the Gallery for all to see.

It appears I don't have permission to edit one of my apps entries?

*edit* make that any of my apps entries..

Hmm...

Please forgive me for sounding negative, but TGC could have asked for some community feedback on how the gallery could/should be improved. (Or maybe I missed it.)

What bugs me with the gallery is that there doesn't appear to be any kind of rating system in place (such as 1-5 stars) or separation between AAA+ commercial entries (ie. applications with highly polished graphics, sound and gameplay) vs the newbie freebie apps with crappy graphics.

I for one would not want to have my apps next to some these crappy entries. Or let me put it another way - if I made a really crappy looking app, I would not expect to have it next to some really amazing apps!

How is this gallery useful for any serious developers, when it also contains entries that look like they were made by a five year old?

To summarize, at least a rating system would be great... and to be able to sort the entries by their rating.

Cheers,
AgentSam - the grumpy old software engineer

Where do we report Gallery Issues?

and on a related note, my app appears to have vanished;

Try now

I would like there to be a rating system at some point but for now I just wanted to fix what we had so people can upload again.

That's a bit harsh, crappy graphics doesn't always mean it's a bad app that deserves a bad rating. Perhaps graphics and gameplay should be rated separately.

Just post in this thread and I'll see them

Unfortunately some entries weren't stored properly in the old system so were missing vital bits of information like the owner so they couldn't be transferred to the new system.

Hi,

For now the Gallery is there just to show what people are doing with AGK. Rating apps can be done in app stores. TGC would also prefer to focus on developing the AppGameKit tool.

What about having the page to automatically get the rating from Google Play/App Store/App up/etc and post it along with each app?

Here's a possible solution:
When your app gets some notoriety on the app stores then you could update your gallery entry here with a screen shot or graphic of those ratings.
I personally will be doing this to my cover screenshot at some point.

I would also rather have TGC spend their time improving the functionality of AppGameKit vs making the gallery more functional.
That is unless someone in the community knows PHP real well and wants to donate their time to make a nicer gallery!
