Hello, all. I haven't used FPS creator in probably 2 years, and am getting back into it at the moment. I have had a quick play with water and seem to be having a few issues.

I setup one water zone looking fairly nice, and made a second later in the level. However, the water height and texture for both water zones seem to be connected. Is it possible to have different levels and different textures for water?

For height I initially tried to edit the fpi, but that seemed to just stop it working altogether, although I suspect that using notepad may have caused issues. I am downloading fpi editor at the moment to see if I have more luck with that. So, with no other option I simply moved the zone up to the level I wanted in the editor. Although it worked a treat, making another zone still reset it to the same level as the second zone.

Any ideas? Or is water limited to one height level and texture?

Oh one last thing, I used Friskon's water download off these forums, as I couldn't see how else to get started. One thing I have noticed is when you add a water zone, it does not list anywhere in the entities section, is this nornal?

Thanks for your time reading this, hopefully someone can shed some light for me and other users, who may have had trouble with setting water up the first time.

The water is a plan across the whole level and is not zones.

With scripts you can change the height, colour and other things but you can't change the texture.

Ah, thanks for that. It's a pity, as it would have been nice to have water and green marshy pools etc. I assume this limit is on the entire level also? So you can't have a pool in a tower top for instance and then a moat below? I have since tried FPI editor and have found it works fine, so my notepad files were being saved incorrectly, as I thought. However, height seems to be a one way street, and water defaults to the last level set still.

I am using 1.19, as the new beta just crashes my machine, unfortunately. Perhaps it could be added into the new version, as I am adding different entities, and as they have separate properties it should be possible to do, and would greatly add to level design.

Still, good to know it isn't just me as I plan to add this as part of my tutorials eventually. The fates conspire against me on that front. I have given up trying to capture it and have decided to try to use a camera. However, a friend got me a tripod to use, and somehow lost it on his way over to give it me (must have been a fiddly little thing). So I will have to wait a little longer and go fetch one myself next week. Other than that I could try my webcam, but doubt it is up to the job.

You could do the effects with masking and using triggerzones to activate the water.

You can change the water texture but remb this is a shader.

You could make a smaller plan your self and add a shader like this :-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sVwm0XeuKg
