Are you using the standard AppGameKit IDE?

I entered your code as displayed above (including a code snippet would have been more helpful) and got no error.

yes its the standard ide,
i make a new project, add some files and then it happens.
i think the editor have a format problem.
i open it with notepad. looks ugly^^

edit:
strange, reformat the code in notepad don't work but cut in
akg ide, paste in a new notepad file, copy & paste back in agk ide.

the last time i set a code template in ide options for a new file, maybe this was the reason. looks like a 13 10 / 10 13 problem
because the line break looks different in akg ide and notepad.
i don't look with hexeditor. if it happens again i will look.

Notepad is not a good editor to use because it adds formatting things that aren't visible to the eye and not understandable by other things.

Delete the project and start fresh and manually type the code into the AppGameKit IDE.

If you must use an outside editor, you need one that is pure text. Something like Crimson Editor or Textpad.

ok, thanks.
i think notepad put the pur text only in clipboard.
copy & paste and the hidden formatting is gone.

Because Notepad does not have a UTF-8 flag, it's interpreting the data as UTF-16, which happens to put the byte-pairs into a 16-bit Unicode mapping which corresponds (by accident) to Hiragana or Katakana.

Your IDE hurts my eyes! You know not everything has to be a shade of blue right?

That would explain an issue I had earlier where a document would show up as chinese or whatever only in notepad.
