Hi!

I have used the shader 'Normal Mapping.dbs' which is included with dark shader, it requires a Base texture, and a normal map to work where I have loaded suitable textures, played around with the slider until I was satisfied with the result. The result that displayed nicely in the preview window.
After that I selected 'export all' to a target directory that I made. Opening that directory I notice dbpro example code, trying to run that code, it runs but the cube is all black.

Moved the shader file to the effects folder in fpsc. Set up one of the segment fpe files to use that shader. But everything is black, even thou I placed the textures in the same directory.

I have also tried the above but exporting just the object shader as an .fx file

How do I make use of the shaders I make with dark shader?

I'm using FPSC 1,20 beta 17

Maybe obvious but do you have full shaders set?

How about the FPE of the entity? does it show your file path pointing to your custom shader? I only ask because I had the same problem with dark shader.

Yes.

Yes. But, this shader I'm trying to use requires light according to the description in dark shader. I am trying to make it work in dbpro by passing lights to it, I have not yet gotten it to work.

further more, I donot know how FPSC handles shaders: eg. How does the engine pass the scene lights to the shader? Is it ok that objects uses textures declared within the shader code, or do they have to be loaded from outside?
