FPSC Classic Product Chat / Problem to run a compiled game.

Hello all.

I've recently compiled a map but then i've got a really annoying problem, the game doesn't run on some computers.

The game can be seen in the task manager, but cannot be played.


Those three persons have each a computer with a 64Bit version of Windows Seven installed on it, an up-to-date DirectX 11 in addition with a recent graphics card.


Do you have any idea on how to fix that ?

They have to have direct x9 installed to play fpsc.

Also in windows 7 64bit some machines have to have the game run as administrator.

did they actually go and install the DX9 ?

thats normally what will happen when its not installed.

Have you let them run the CanThisComputerRunFPSCGames.exe from tools this should give them more info.

What error are they getting ?

What version of fpsc are you using ?

@RelMayer :- I tested your game and it does not work, the reason for this is windows 7 and upwards don't have certain files to make these games run.

The files missing for this game to run is :-

msvcp71.dll
msvcr71.dll
d3d9_25.dll
d3dx9_40.dll

I've added these files to this thread download them and add it to the same dir as your exe.

I would recommended updating to beta17 as its more stable and better performance even if it does show lower framerate.

There also no skybox in the game due to the skybox not being copied over this is a problem with early version of fpsc plus we still looking into fixing it even if your game is inside.

Game is looking very nice and runs very well using the latest beta of fpsc as it fixes many bugs and issues plus I am using the latest none released version that fixes blocking.

Had this issue and it was related to the version of DX9 they had installed. It was a REAL annoying problem and i hope to god FPSCR will in some way let people know they need DX9 or can embed it in the install.
