I love his work. Jason and the argonauts, clash of the titans were a couple of my favourite movies when I was growing up. I still enjoy watching them just because of his special effects. A sad day :-(

I also loved his special effect work. Very well done and had a charm to it that almost no-one could capture. Practical effects in general seem to have that.
