I believe there's a free to use version of DarkBasic Professional.

DarkBasic - Free To Use

So no need to purchase until you're confident and you'd like to support TGC.[href]null[/href]

Chinese character display is not normal
!!!!!!!!
for example:

Set Display Mode 800,600,16
Sync On: CLS 0
Sync Rate 60
Set Text Opaque
BasePosX = 400
Text BasePosX, 580,"在职"
Rem Main Program Loop

SET TEXT FONT "GB2312_CHARSET 136"
PRINT "按任意键继续..."
repeat
until inKEY$()<>""
end

You could always make your own font and load it as a series of images. That would give you more control anyway.
