Hi,
I just found myself wondering, is it likely that Darkbasic is ever going to be updated to support DirectX 11?
I'm guessing thought that it'd be more of a rewrite than just an 'update' to change that?
It's just, I get the feeling that if that doesn't ever happen, it's not going to be too long before Darkbasic Pro dies as a language, because Direct X 9 won't be supported anymore
As it is, I usually find when I'm trying to run a program I've made on other machines, I usually have to install some missing DLL, or install Direct X 9.0 to run alongside 10 or 11, whatever is there already.
It's probably stupid of me to ask you all this, sorry, you probably know as much as me
I just wondered if any of you had an idea of whether it was likely?

Like you say, unless there is a new version of DarkBASIC that people are willing to pay for I don't think this will happen. I was up for that when they floated the idea of DarkBASIC Elite but that's now not going to happen.

If you've been following AppGameKit there was an interesting question in the recent survey they had when they asked whether or not people would like AppGameKit to have the same 3D functionality as DBPro. If that's the case then let DBPro die (for want of a less emotive word). I'm going to finish my current DBPro project then I'm moving over to AGK. People are doing some really cool stuff with it.

one of these days I'll come up with a better signature

not unless it is rewritten with direct x 11.

my signature keeps being erased by a mod So this is my new signature.
