I'd rather not have the Mass Effect 3 crap where a major companion of a dead race returns to fight with you, allowing you to explore and discover things about the enigmatic species that ruled 50,000 years ago, the Protheans. Yes, the biggest revelation was Day One DLC, and that was a big furore until ME3's ending washed it out.
I can live without a difficulty mode. Honestly, what else could they offer? With no multiplayer maps or unlocks, they were genuinely limited. A weapon pack? Pretty meh, consumer won't go for that. A story prologue/epilogue? Those who don't get it will feel cheated.
It's worth noting that Ranger mode didn't ship with 2033. I imagine that after the initial rush of release, we may see it released for free in due time.
I understand your griping though, but from the devs point of view, they had little choice I suppose.
