One thing I like about 4A Games, makers of the Metro games, is that they seem to swerve away from convention a little. This trailer was released as a post-game release thank you to the fans.

The whole thing was made by one dev in his spare time. Please take three minutes of your time to watch it, I'm sure you'll appreciate the feeling and eye for detail that went into it. Even putting my Metro fanhood aside, it's such an emotive trailer, yet unlike Dead Island, it fits the theme of Metro to a T.

Watch it here, and please comment your thoughts. Hopefully as gamers and devvers, we can appreciate the work put in:

I have a trailer? lol

I didn't listen to it with sound as I'm at work but it certainly looks like a powerful video.

Shame they did not bring that experience into the game

but a very powerful and great video, and mobiius - do watch it with sounds, they really really help

sadly though - the fact that they sold off the only good mode to play Metro with as a DLC, leaves me with a sour taste towards 4A games

Deep Siilver released an interview with Huy Beynon, the guy who has been fronting PR for Last Light since it was announced. It was just before Last Light's release, when they announced that the Ranger DLC would be a pre-order bonus. Apparently nowadays it's something that's demanded by retailers.

If that's true, it's kinda sad and makes a bit of sense. Pre-orders are a guaranteed cashflow before the product is even shipped. IF they lied, then shame on them. Still, since every game seems to release with some form of pre-order benefits or other, I respect that they didn't remove level content or use day one DLC.

I still have to find the time to play Last Light. Walking Dead is hammering my feels right now.

I do know that that's the case - doesnt mean I like it, at all - I seriously can't respect that being a thing, from developers or publishers.
A difficulty mode shouldn't be a DLC, heck cutting off half the game and selling it as a DLC is more justifiable than that.

Instead of monsters there should be evil commies, but no... 4A, what's wrong with you?

I'd rather not have the Mass Effect 3 crap where a major companion of a dead race returns to fight with you, allowing you to explore and discover things about the enigmatic species that ruled 50,000 years ago, the Protheans. Yes, the biggest revelation was Day One DLC, and that was a big furore until ME3's ending washed it out.

I can live without a difficulty mode. Honestly, what else could they offer? With no multiplayer maps or unlocks, they were genuinely limited. A weapon pack? Pretty meh, consumer won't go for that. A story prologue/epilogue? Those who don't get it will feel cheated.

It's worth noting that Ranger mode didn't ship with 2033. I imagine that after the initial rush of release, we may see it released for free in due time.

I understand your griping though, but from the devs point of view, they had little choice I suppose.

Yes - i would rather have that, than something that will potentially ruin my WHOLE gaming experience - considering the game is ALL about immersion - and the difficulty does all that i want it to - it removes the UI and makes stuff more scarse - but most of all IT REMOVES THE UI

Like they said when they talked about this. It is not recommended to do your first playthru on the ranger mode, and it's mostly for the hardcore fans who will preorder the game anyway. And the retailers force the preorder bonus.

<-- played it on that difficulty on my first playthrough
<-- cant see how it's NOT recommended other than for the fact that it's harder

Complaining about the thing that it even is a DLC to begin with - and for me, basicly required to have to enjoy the game - basicly like that DLC in mass effect you were just talking about.

in short - it's utter bullshoe, and I really hope difficulty modes dont become a standard in DLC - because that.. will be really really horrible

The worst one was fable 3, where the day 1 dlc was the second half of the game. poor show indeed.
