Mystic Racing

This is my entry to the Intel perceptual challenge, wish me luck

Demo attached: If you don't have perceptual camera then you can un-pause by pressing 'p', then press 'k' for keyboard arrow controls. Double press 'up' to boost. Press alt+F4 to exit.

Original post:

This is my entry for the latest Intel competition. I have a look and theme for this game that is not represented at all in the video, progress shown in the video was for testing assets and physics with AGK.

Good news is physics is easily implemented since the agk command set supports quaternions. I also found I can easily rewrite my track maker for obj files, and Milkshape exports obj to agk without any issues.

There are 750 places up for grabs for the first phase of this competition, if I get through that then I will be developing a prototype which will give a better idea of what the game will be like.

Nice!

It reminds me of Stunt Car Racer...

Which is a good thing, everybody loved that game and it's mad stunt tracks and multiplayer.

I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more memes.

That's no accident Van B, I loved that game when I was a kid and this game will be influenced heavily by stunt car racer

I would only suggest that the track have side barriers
But that is easially smashable.
Makes it easier to see and adds some extra.
You could have bogus adds on them for fluka speed oil or something
Looks good.

You are using Tier2 for this .. no ?

That's really cool mate. I love the perspective and visuals and the style. It's not immediately clear to me how you're controlling the car though. Is it just open and closed hand gestures?

One hand opens and closes to accelerate while the other hand turns to steer. It's harder than normal controls at the moment but I have had fun playing it, it's a different kind of challenge

Very cool, I hope you do great! It looks like someone else had almost the same idea, though I think he can't turn it very well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dZRS2yZ18I

I seen quite a few racing games using the perceptual camera for the last competition but I never saw one where the developer in the video could actually control the car

His control method in that video looks cool but there would be no way of controlling your speed while you steer, if he can even steer.

Do you have an entry xCept?
