one of my games started acting up on windows 7.
when I try to exit the game it crashes instead of shutting down smoothly like its supposed to.
The end code is simple

I upgraded DBP to 7_7_RC7 and recompiled under Win7 but it did not help. The game plays fine but when I try to exit I get "DarkBASIC Pro Project has stopped working"

Any ideas on this??

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

Try a GOTO and shift the END after LOOP

Not at home right now but this should be right... If not someone else will have a more suitable answer

I'll give a little more information from what im seeing.

my game closes fine on windows 7 and it was compiled on windows 7.

when I move my game over to xp or vista it crashes when you terminate your program.

why is this??

I'd recommend an "End Program" Sub Routine over a goto.

This way, you could also write some termination code which will close your application as perwhat OS the program is running on.

What extensions is the program using ? - As some of them might have to be manually closed prior to exiting.

Hahahah I know but wanted to see if it cured the issue, I was going to suggest a GoSub but I was in the car on the way home using my phone lol...

Did you install U7.62?

Just for learning purposes, the use of the Exit command would have sufficed.

But that should never be a solution to any crashing problem.

I've seen this issue before and it doesn't seem like DBP is at fault. What screen mode are you running? Full screen exclusive tends to cause these problems. In fact in a number of games outside of TGC that mode can cause problems.

Have you tried running other projects, do they crash on exit?

Yes, Chris' way is now my preferred method of application termination. (Ever since end doesn't work in AppGameKit apparently)

Try running fullscreen windowed.

If it still fails, then possibly a dodgy plugin.
