For all of those that know me my name is Chris Sanders and I've been working with a small team to design a new fighting game for the ouya called ascension X. We have recently moved to modeling and I have been working on this character all day long. I can't seem to get it right and want to ask for advice. I think someone on this forum might be able to help me. the model is beeing made in 3D studio max and Zbrush.

You can find more information on the ascension project on our facebook fanpage found https://www.facebook.com/AscensionX2013

really nice concept. you have a good start, but i think part of your problem may be that you are trying to model just an outer shell. without the underlying forms to provide structure and reference, this can be more difficult than it might seem like it should be.

one thing specifically that i notice are the bands over the chest. you have them just awkwardly merging/meeting together, while the concept has them wrapped around a ring

Looks like you guys where right I completely restarted and this model is looking much better. I've been taking my time and building good forms in max first.

looking good man, this is coming along nicely!

you should leave the original wip shots up, its always neat to see the progression of work and it keeps the comments and critique relevant and helpful to others.
