It looks pretty cool, and apart from most of this stuff it looks pretty exciting. Using your hands to hack a door in a game would be realy awesome. It's probably pretty tiering to use for a long time though, but for short sequenses in a game, im sure it will be perfect

Saw this about a year ago, thought it looked too good to be true in some ways, should've got it at the lower price!

New video! http://youtu.be/BdcITzLBjxU

Video is awesome! Will it be compatible with PC games?

That looks incredibly accurate, and it's so tiny! $80 sounds very reasonable to me. If I could spare the cash right now I'd totally get one.

Now for me that thing + OR = buy no console, only PC. That is too overweighting all possible console exclusives.

Mine arrived a few days ago. I'll let you know what I think once I get around installing and actually testing it. So far it looks like a nice (way too expensive) toy, but I'm still hoping it will be useful for things such as drawing and modeling..

I've read reviews saying the tech is too finicky to really reply a mouse, and can be straight-up frustrating. Shame, I really wanted the Minority Report experience, but apparently it just doesn't deliver. :/

This looks awesome. I think it would be worth the money and I would pre-order if I had the money. I think it could change gaming and open a world for new types of games. Along with the Rift thingy I forget its name. The gaming VR thing. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. Anyways its neat to see all this new cool tech.

I finally got around installing it. Unfortunately I couldn't really test it though, as it doesn't run on XP/Vista and I haven't got access to a Win7/8 PC right now. Still I was able to check out the debugging visualization tool that displays the Leap's representation of my hands. It seems very accurate, fast and mostly stable. But the space where it accurately detects movement seems to vary a bit for some reason, and every time I moved my hands out of this space, nothing was detected for the next ~2 seconds, which is kind of strange. However, that is probably a problem of the debugging software and not of the Leap Motion.
Anyway - that's really all I can tell you right now. Hopefully I'll be able to properly test it on another machine within the next days.

I've been reading reports about Leap Motion not being as accurate as people had hoped.

What I would rather want for the VR experience (Oculus Rift + Virtuix Omni) are VR gloves. Here is one in development:

Obviously it's a prototype and the consumer design would be a lot cleaner and even slim-fit. It really would be nice to be able to accurately track your hand/finger motions for things such as spell-casting in VR games.

A spell casting game would be a dream for me. Imagine having things like telekinetic grabs with a slightly-closed fist, an open palm projecting a shield, or focusing your fingers together to lance beams of light. Two hands would make the affair pretty challenging, and ridiculously enjoyable...I'd never take the headset off!
